hello world im ingrid this is my blog.
a few things:
1. im going to be a sophmore in college (fall08). I attend a small school in Austin, TX, where I study communication and photography. I love Austin. Everything regarding college has been one giant blessing wrapped in tiny blessings and topped with a large blessing bow. You get the picture. Basically God really had his hand on my life this past year and I am eternally greatful.
2. I am an avid traveler. I am going to Tanzania, Africa this summer with my church at home and i am beyond stoked. It is my first time to the beautiful and vast country and I am expecting great things. My alltime favorite place I’ve been is Trinidad. It wasnt because of the beautiful beaches or the pretty views that we saw when we drove to the north shore, but rather the people. I loved it because I experienced God in such a simple way and it was so different from anything I have ever seen. The people lived off of less than $100 each month and yet had such an overflowing joy that it was contageous. During worship it rained outside of the tent that we stood under and the adults swayed and clapped their hands to the music as the children danced in the aisles. It was strange and sad the day we left Trinidad, and I realize now that it changed the way I think about a lot of things.
3. I aspire to play many rare instruments. I used to play the Viola in middle school and im slowly starting to regret my decidsion to quit it during my high school years. I am currently teaching myself some guitar chords and such and ultimately i hope to play the banjo. Some other miscellaneous instruments I enjoy include the ukelele, pan flute, the harmonica, the keyboard, the steel guitar, and the lyre/harp. I often picture myself in a folk band playing a rare stringed instrument or something along those lines. Hopefully my dream will come true. Perhaps Sufjan Stevens will invite me to play the kazoo or something in his band. And then we will get married.
4. In 10 years from now, i will hopefully be way done with college and will have some sweet travelling photography jobs or something. I would like it if I got hired to photograph for an exteme outdoors magazine and got to go to sweet places where extreme things were happening. I really just like being extreme.
5. My favorite food which i could eat for the rest of my life and be good is by far fruit. I will eat any and every fruit excluding pears. Pears, you suck. Also figs are gross because i heard that the little gritty things on the inside are actually gnats that got stuck on the seed during the growing process. siiickk
7. I enjoy reading very much. Currently I have about 4 books started. I hope to read at least 12 books this summer. Thats a really high goal for me considering the speed at which i read.
8. I love my friends. the end.
Good list. I love lists. I like this blog so much I will do my own version of it at my blog. Good luck in Tanzania!
