I am currently listening to an instrumental/classical/indie band called Balmorhea, which is my new favorite. They hail from austin. Over the summer I went to one of their shows and it was great. It was also crazy bc i recognized one of the guys from the band because he played the accordion and other miscellaneous instruments at Mosaic, a church I used to go to.  Their music is really something that i picture to be a soundtrack to a movie…something epic.

This semester is going to be great. I know ive said that half a million times on this blog but seriously. Im applying to study abroad in Brussels, Belgium next fall (only for a semester) but i feel like I want to really make a difference while Im here. I dont know what that means I will be doing, but i want to do something.

Kat and I are creating a vblog all about how to be more mystical. I think it will be a grand endeavor. the first episode should be up sometime in the coming week.

 these last few days have been really great. 4 star material. (minus 1 star since my room mates and kat arent here with me). I’ve been hanging out with old friends and reminiscing hilarious memoires. Lauren recently reminded me about the time when we somehow had balloons at school (i think it was someones bday) and we made the string on the balloon really long so that the balloon would be like a mile in back of us in the hallway and hitting people in the face and they would be confused as to who was holding the balloon. it was pretty hilarious  because one of the meanest teachers at my school got so angry at us. good times. I had coffee with my oldest friend (we’ve been friends since 7th grade and she goes to princeton now) and it was so funny to see how we’ve both grown and matured but also at the same time remained the same really strange quirky people that we were in junior high. we used to be really into making fun of cats for some reason, although im pretty sure im still into making fun of cats. sometimes i think they may be the spawn of satan. other times i think they might be some awkward type of alien trying to take over the world. its pretty hard to tell, but i can see it. they’re silent but deadly. just because they are cute when babies doesnt mean that they are innocent. I once had a cat that was really old and named cally. It got so old and then ran away. I didnt care. My parents told me that it was getting to the end of its life and it just had to go somwhere else for a change. Now that i think about it, it had probably set some kind of time bomb in our house that would destroy us and then made a quick getaway. well, heres the news cally: your time bomb didnt work &  i hope you are dead. anyway, thats really all i have to say about cats right now.

im working on about 4 paintings right now and hoping to get them done before i return to the capitol. ill put up pictures once im farther along. inspiration is measly some days.

today i hung out with my brother. it was a success..whatever that means. hes pretty hilarious. we got a present for our parents for christmas but im not gonna say what it is incase my parents find this blog before christmas.

ive recently been bothered by the fact that i cant change the past. its quite annoying. some things i wish i could go back and re-do or maybe even just x out of my life. Like for example, reading the book, Jane Eyre, in my english class in high school. that book was the worst ever besides My Antonia. why do they make us read stupid things all the time? Also, i would like to re-do going to Hawaii bc i think i didnt take advantage of being in Hawaii when i was there. There are other htings i would like to re-do but dont know if i’ll have the chance in the future. Relations with other people are the most difficult to un-do. Its basically impossible (minus the basically)…it is impossible. Maybe in the future things can be different, but what you did or didn’t do still counts. Moving on is the hardest part.

Break time!

My dad and I are building a sail boat. it is so awesome!!!! i will post pictures soon.

I have a bunch of stuff to do this christmas breaK! im so excited! i have to paint, make christmas presents, make christmas cards, go to christmas parties, see old friends, SHOP**, read, movie watch ect ect ect

** one notable thing i did this semester was not buy any clothes since august. Lauren and i decided to basically fast from clothes because its not like we really need anything. I made it through a whole semester without buying clothes and it was really easy. I guess I dont really care that much what im wearing so i pretty much wore tshirts and jeans the whole semester. I also had some help from Kats closet. thanks man. Still, i dont consider that cheating because its using the clothes that I or others already own. so its not wasteful. its actually better than just wearing your own clothes bc your wearing other peoples clothes that they arent wearing. Anyway, the semester is over now so i think i will buy some things. some actual things. aka not tshirts. that would be cool.

I decided that sometime before the break is over i am having a Star Wars marathon with myself. Its going to be epic. duhh.

Im finding it sort of upsetting that the temperature right now is in the mid-70s. this isnt christmas weather! (thats the reason i chose the snowy picture by Jan von Holleben for the picture of the day) I mean, i cant even drink hot things because ill start sweating! I guess its sort of rediculous that im complaining about the weather but i really just want to be in the christmas spirit and this hot weather is melting those spirits away. lamesauce.

How many times is sunny 99.1 going to play stupid mariah carey?!??!? ive heard it at least 3 times today and its only 1pm. I dont really understand why everyone loves taht song so much. its lame and kind of annoying! One of my personal favorite christmas songs is the O Tannenbaum instrumental song. just fyi.
